My son’s description of what it feels like for him when he needs to perform his complex motor stereotypies - what his body feels like inside when he needs to have a “body break”.

Mom,

…It’s like a superhero that starts to charge his superpowers.

…It’s like Iron Man charging his repulsors!! [You can’t stop it].

He always tells me that there’s so much energy buildup - so much intensity. At this age, it was still hard for him to control his motor stereotypies at school and in public, and hard for him to focus when he couldn’t go outside to have a body break and release the tension.
